About Coach Bracken He's been a player, coach and trainer for more than 40 years. His resume is long, of course, and includes accolades, achievements and awards, such as: HS All American, D1 Attackman, North-South All-Star, and NJ Coach of the Year (2012). As Director of Heads Up Lacrosse, Coach has continually studies the game, refines the instructional methods and offers hi-level off-season clinics in fall and winter, preparing players for success in the spring!
The mission of Heads Up Lacrosse (Est. 2009) is to deliver the most current and effective training and instruction for competitive players from grade school through HS.
Background Lacrosse has been a blessing and a part of Coach Bracken's life since 1974, when his older brother handed him a stick at age 8 in Valley Cottage, NY. After that, he never really put it down or looked back. By age 10 he made his way onto the field at the NCAA National Championship as a "ball boy". Lucky for Tim, the local HS in Nyack had enjoyed a storied lacrosse program since 1966, and the community had a great passion for the sport, which further fueled his love of the game. Tim went on to earn 1st Team All-America honors at Nyack HS in 1984 and play four years at the University of Delaware, where he graduated in 1989. Coach Bracken accepted his first coaching job in the spring of 1990. In 2001 his family moved from Stamford, CT to Ridgewood, NJ where Tim's passion for coaching led him to assist at the youth level while raising three young children with his wife, Meghan. In 2008, Tim was offered the Head Coach position at Glen Rock HS and resigned in 2015 after settings school records for total wins, season wins, league championships and state ranking (#17 in 2012). From 2015 - present, Coach Bracken has remained active in club lacrosse coaching and small group instruction focused on offensive skills.
